Youth Accelerator

Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Every young person who works with us has the right to be safe, respected and protected from harm.

Our commitment

We take every concern about the safety or wellbeing of a young person seriously, whether it involves our team, our volunteers, our mentors, our partners or anyone else connected with our work.

What we expect

Everyone who represents Youth Accelerator, including Catalysts, mentors, trainers and volunteers, is expected to treat young people with respect, never abuse a position of trust, and never exploit, harass or discriminate against anyone.

How to raise a concern

If you are worried about your own safety or someone else’s in connection with our work, write to [email protected] with the subject “Safeguarding”. Your message will go to our Legal and Governance Catalyst, who leads on safeguarding. You do not need proof to raise a concern.

If someone is in immediate danger, contact the police or local emergency services first.

What happens next

We will acknowledge your message, treat it confidentially, and share it only with the people who need to know in order to keep someone safe. Nobody who raises a concern in good faith will be treated unfairly for doing so.
